Nazwiska Polaków jako tekst kultury i źródło badań nad wspólnotową autonarracją

The article contributes to the research into modern system of surnames Poles as a culture text which can become basis for reconstructing community self-narrations. presented perspective takes consideration following assumptions: 1. Narration naturally accompanies cognition. 2. Personal proper names (i.e. anthroponyms) have unique ontological and epistemological status in anthropocentric cognitive system. 3. An anthroponym is message determined by needs values given linguistic cultural community. In order reconstruct narrations embedded it proposed that steps be adopted: 1) perform sta-tistical analysis concerned with number onymic derivation sets, 2) undertake semantic stud-ies considering level categorization appellatives motivate creation surnames, 3) adopt endocentric exocentric perspectives descriptive functions anthro-ponyms belong particular motivation-formal types.
